Pasadena

Nicknamed “The City of Roses”, Pasadena is best known for the Tournament of Roses Parade and the Rose Bowl Championship football game held on New Year’s Day. But, Pasadena offers both residents and visitors alike a variety of cultural amenities including world-class museums, great restaurants, and a whole host of hip boutiques and shops. Situated at the base of the beautiful San Gabriel Mountains, Pasadena has something of interest for everyone. Set within the city’s original 19th century marketplace, Old Pasadena, a 22-block national historic district, is home to beautifully restored buildings, restaurants and shops, and a vibrant nightlife. Take a tour of the famed Rose Bowl Stadium or The Huntington Botanical Gardens, with more than 15,000 varieties of plants grown in 12 unique garden settings.

Pasadena is also home to many scientific institutions such as the California Institute of Technology (CalTech), and NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, as well as a variety of art museums including the Norton Simon Museum, The Pacific Asia Museum, the Pasadena Museum of California Art, and the Kidspace Children’s Museum. If you’re visiting Pasadena, keep an eye and ear out for the wild parrots that call Pasadena their home!
